NATURE & NURTURE:
The Relational Brain (Speaker(s) to be confirmed)

Living Systems is planning a third conference in the series of meetings on Nature and Nurture to be held in the spring of 2007.

Neuroscience increasingly documents the importance of relationships for how the brain has evolved and functions. The conference will focus on how the brain organizes itself through its interactions with the most important people in its relationship system. This organization begins in utero, influenced by the mother's level of anxiety which, in turn, is influenced by her most important relationships. The process of the brain influencing others and being influenced continues throughout life.

The conference will bring together experts in neuroscience and in Bowen theory to explore new research in neuroscience and its implications for understanding basic levels of differentiation. Basic change in family psychotherapy may imply a reorganization of the relational brains of each member of a family.

Further details regarding this upcoming conference will be posted on our website in the near future.
